legacy family church

I would like to visit legacy, but...

Q:  What do my children do during worship?

A:  We know that families are at different stages in training their children to participate in worship.  Because of that, we are quite flexible and we recognize that a lot of training occurs during the worship service, we are used to the noise!  We encourage all children to take notes or draw pictures of the sermon.

Q:  How do you participate in the Lord’s Supper?

A:  We conclude each of our services by taking the Lord’s Supper.  While we do practice open communion (non-members are welcome), we do ask that you have surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that you have made a public profession of faith and that you have been baptized.  The Lord’s Supper is led by the fathers.  If your father is not able to serve you, you may join with another family.  Each father gathers his family to pray and prepare hearts for communion.  Part of that preparation is making relationships right.  If you need to ask forgiveness of someone in your family or someone in the church, do that prior to taking communion.  Don’t feel pressured into taking communion if you need more time to make relationships right with God or others.  At the communion table, the father serves the bread and the juice.  The father then prays over his family.

Q:  What should I wear?

A:  Our services are very relaxed.  We have members who wear casual business dress and others who wear dresses, button down shirts with ties.  We have some members who are comfortable in shorts and sandals.  All we ask is that you demonstrate a biblical example by being modest in your dress.

Q:  Do I need to bring food for the fellowship meal?

A:  After every Sunday morning service we have a fellowship feast.  As our guest, we do not expect you to bring food and would like your family to eat first!  We always have plenty of food.  However, if you would like to bring a dish you may.  We have access to two kitchens with refrigerators and ovens.  We can even plug in a crockpot.
